If a Print option cannot be selected, the issue you described may be a limitation of your email client. You may have to copy the text and paste it into a normal word processing program for printing. Or send the email to your self and try printing it that way.

I recently bought an MG 3020 and have been attempting to set up the printer for the last 4 hours without any success.
I have downloaded the set up program and run it multiple times but I keep hitting error after error no matter which way I approach the install.
My printer is on, its plugged in using the usb but its also flashing an orange light with a lighting bolt in a triangle.
I go through the installation wizzard and it gets to this point where it tries to detect the printer but it does nothing.
If I unplug the usb cable then replug it in then it looks like its detecting it (it says printer dected please wait until the installation is complete) but again nothing happens.
BUT previous to that I was getting futher into the process, I got to the point where it allowed to try and configure the printer head and the scanner but again it did nothing at all.
And before that I'd installed the device drivers without the wizard, got the scanner program but when I tried to scan it came up with this error code code:2,140,21
When I look at my device manager the printer does show up and when I click on it it says the device is working properly (despite the fact that its clearly not).
It can also see it in the control pannel, when I try to use it in that area it comes up with scanning software, I click preview or scan and it does nothing, makes no sound and clearly doesnt do the scan.
When I use the canon ij scan utility it now comes up with error code 5,156, 69 it says the scanner is turned off or the usb cable is disconnected, which it isnt.
When I try wireless it cant see the network despite the fact that we only have wifi and the computer is connected to it.
I am completely at a loss at what to do.
Canon Pixma iP4950 on a Mac running Lion 10.7.5 will only print blank pages. This started (mysteriously) after creating a new document in Word 2011.
Have cleaned the printer. Have replaced the driver. Have replaced all ink tanks with fresh original Canon ones. Cleaned again.
No ink on pages!

Canon USA doesn't support the PIXMA iP4950 directly, however, we recommend making sure you've got the most up-to-date software from the Canon support site. If you've done that and you're still having problems, you'll want to speak with support for further troubleshooting.

Running Windows 10 on a Dell XPS 8500, Canon MG7720. Got the message but can not find the firmware.
Same problem here. Following the leave it unplugged and then plug back in solution did not work. If the canon reps writing to this thread were authorized to in any way acknowledge that this model is faulty, I might consider staying with canon, but since they clearly just have a boilerplate response that is known to not resolve the problem, it is time for me to find a new manufacturer.
Sorry Canon, but honesty really is the best policy.

I was printing photos and noticed the color was a little off so I checked my ink and replaced the black (it was getting low). After I closed the door the printer shut off. I couldn't get it to come on. I noticed the orange light on the right hand corner was on. Opening the ink door again the cassette carriage had not moved. I have changed outlets. Nothing gets any response from the printer except the dang orange light. I can't find any troubleshoooting answers for this... anyone experience a similar issue? Thanks!
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR SOLUTION TO FIX IT DOES NOT WORK. YOUR PRODUCT HAS A FAULTY ISSUE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND FOR WHAT REASON YOU WON'T STAND BEHIND IT. YOU ARE LOSING A LOT OF CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF THIS. I HOPE THIS IS ALL WORTH YOUR REPUTATION THAT YOU RUINED FOR YOURSELVES.
After reading a lot more thasn I cared to I found out that for my Canon Printer the MX922 one can select greyscale. But, there is always a but isn't there, the print cannot be 2 sided for some reason. One side and somewhere in the pulldown dialog is a check mark for greyscale. See my screen shot below.
I have an MF8280 and everytime I scan it scans white. The page it blank. I have tried from the platen glass and from the feeder they both seem to work but the image is blank. All I get is a white blank scan. I have treid everything. I have uninstalled all drivers and uninstalled multiple times. I updated the firmware. I am running Macos 10.12.14 . I am a pretty tech savvvy person and for the life of me I am going mad.
I see the light of the scanner, although it does seem dim maybe? I am not sure what is should look like. Can anyone help?

(1) When you make a copy after placing a document in your Color imageCLASS MF8280Cw, and pressing COPY and the BLACK or COLOR start buttons, does the copy print blank too? (2) Is your MF8280Cw's power cord connected directly to a wall outlet or power strip/surge protector? (3) If your MF8280Cw's power cord is connected to a power strip/surge protector, for testing purposes, does the issue still occur when you connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet?

I installed the Creators Update last week. Ever since then, my MX892 is working but very slowly. It now takes 20-30 seconds for the driver to generate the image to be printed, then another 20-30 seconds for the printer to recognize the file sent from the router.
I tried resetting the wifi connection. A month or so ago I got a new router and reset the printer using the WPS setup. The setup worked flawlessly and the printer did, too. This time when I reset the printer the WPS method failed so I had to use the standard setup. That didn't fix the problem. Printing is now unacceptably slow.
Canon has to update its drivers for Windows Creators Update.
I have never been aple to get the copy to work it gives me a paper tray error every single time. The ONLY thing I can get my printer to do is print. It is plugged into a surge protector. I will plug it directly into a wall now and see what happens.
okay I got the copy working but it also just spits out blank.

Just strictly based on the message, it thinks you don't have internet...were you connected to the internet?
