pixma mg3220 won't print head alignment page

I have a pixma mg3220 running windows 7, it started printing a bad shadow. So i am trying to do the print head alignment procedure but every time it tries to print the alignment page it stops 1/4 of the way in and i get a P02 error. I have to power off the printer, manually pull out the partially printed page. I have looked for anything that might be blocking the print head but I am not seeing anything that looks out of place. I have picked up the printer and rotated it around to hear for anything loose and i hear nothing rattleing.  I have cleaned the print heads.    

 

The only thing that seems out of place is that while printing the alignment page, it starts off normal. I can hear the print head going back and forth smoothly. but after a while I start to hear a thumping when the print head moves to the left side (i opened it up and held down the door sensor to whatch where it was thumping)  So it will hit the left side then pause and do a pass then thump, pause, do a pass. Then i'll get the P02 error. 

 

What can i do?

I'm trying to replace my Canon Pixma iP4820, as it won't work now that the ink absorber pad is full. I called Canon to see if I could order that part, but it's not available. I loved the iP4820 as it gave 5 years of good service and I print quite a lot. I was especially fond of the rear feed. I'm really sorry Canon doesn't seem to support a rear feed now, even on regular single-purpose printers.

Note to Canon: Please bring back a simple printer with a rear feed; it is extremely useful, and adjusting to print photos (4x6, etc.) was much easier than the current fiddling with multiple guides in a front paper tray.

Why is my 2520 pulling paper then stops but is acting like it is still printing?

My Canon Pixma printer-copy-scan will not print. it is pulling the paper like it is going to begin but then stop right after the paper loads. The part instide still spins and ink still moves side to side as if it were printing but nothing is happening. then the paper jam message comes up, does anyone know why or how I can fix this problem please..

Hello.

 

You can scan documens using our IJ Scan Utility program.  This can be found in the Apps or All Apps listing of your computer.

 

If the program cannot be found, visit www.usa.canon.com and search for your MG2920 to download the drivers for the printer.

Do you mean print only black and white, or print without any color cartridges in the printer at all (or with empty ones!)

Pixma MP830 will not power on

I have no power on at all on my MP830. This printer is hardly used and In very good condition. The service manual indicates the power supply or logic board are possibly defective. What test procedures can be used to determine what parts I need to replace.

I just updated to W10 from W8.2 and I cannot find My Image Garden Software. Everything else that was already on the computer and associated with the Canon Printer Software is there and works fine. Has the problem reported earlier been worked out between Canon and MS, or is this part of the same problem?

Hello guys

 

So my main problem is :

 

When im going to print something especially this image which have (8.33x6.25) inches how can i choose exactly image size as image had?As you see i dont have options than pre-installed layouts in widows which is 4x6 inch,wallet size etc..I dont have any options to image size in printer properties too.Theres my must be way how to set up exactly image size to print or no?Im totally noob in printers any answers i will be thankful.

Hi Puck,

 

To use only the black ink cartridge, please follow these steps:

 

 1.  Click on Start, and then click on Control Panel.

 

 2.  Click on Printers and Faxes.

 

 3.  Right click the Canon MP490 Series Printer and left click on Printing Preferences.

 

 4.  Click on the Maintenance tab at the top.

 

 5.  Click on the Ink Cartridge Settings button.

 

 6.  Change to Black Only.

 

 7.  Click OK.

 

The PIXMA MP490 will only print from the black cartridge.

Hi whywhyme,

 

The P 0 2 error is an indication that there is either a foreign object inside the unit or there is a paper jam.  Please follow these steps to resolve this:

 

 1.  Turn your PIXMA MG3220 off, then unplug the power cord.

 

 2.  Stand the machine with the right side facing down.  If you can see the jammed paper at the front tray, stand the machine with the front tray open.

 

 3.  Push the open lever to open the transport unit.  When you open the transport unit, support it with your hand so that it does not fall down.

 

 4.  Pull out the jammed paper slowly.

 

 5.  Close the transport unit.  After you close the transport unit, do not keep the machine standing upright.

 

 6.  Plug the machine back in and turn the machine back on.

 

 7.  Open the cover and look inside the unit for any packing material or foreign objects and remove them if found.

 

 8..  Reload the paper and attempt to print.

Can you please tell me how you corrected the double sided printing?  I am running a MAC with the MX922 and I do not have the option to print a word-for-mac doc on both sides

Re: I had a paper jam on my MX432 and since then my print is blurred, shadowing, double printing.

Hello from the UK to everyone in this thread and thanks to those of you who have taken a stand on this.

 

We have an MP610 and it's been a great machine over the years. This issue started about a month ago and it seemed to be resolved (just once) by unplugging, taking out the cartridges, starting up and then reseating the cartridges - then it came back the next day and wouldn't go.

 

It frustrates me so much as the kit is all there and is working beautifully, it's clearly something under the bonnet in the software that is causing the issue. It seems to me that there is so much needless waste in the world and I am generally much happier to spend a little more and get something that will last the distance and can be repaired/kept going.

 

Anyhow, I've now had to buy a replacement machine because my daughter has got worried about printing out schoolwork etc, but I am very interested to see how Canon respond to being held to account like this.

 

Thanks again to those who have had the gumption to get some answers - I salute you.
