Recycle it, say goodbye to ink jet, upgrade to laser. I've tried all the methods, including playing a banjo underwater standing on one toe, none of these work. This problem plagues inkjets, and is more common in the Cannon line.

Canon TS8000 and TS9000 Printers - How to perform hardware reset?

We have a customer that has an error 5011 on a TS8320.

 

There are numerous sites online that list how to perform a reset other Canon printers, but they all involve a hardware Stop/Cancel button. The TS8000/TS9000 series only have one button on them, the power button - everything else is on the touch screen.

 

So in this case, how can we do a full printer reset?

 

I do not want to call Canon support for this. I do not have the printer on-hand to test with, I need to help a customer via email, so I would need a reply here.

Hi - got it working again but I'll give you the details. Printer is 3 years old and has always worked great until a couple of weeks ago. Noticed voids in my text printing as in lines thru the words. I did a nozzle check and a deep cleaning. No deal. But now it doesn't print anything on the test page except the image at the top and the words test page. I uninstalled reinstalled. Had to find my way thru all the network settings - couldn't get it to print from my laptop. Went to win7 desktop - did a copy and it printed so knew printer was ok. Put laptop in homegroup and now can print from all pcs. 

Don't know what caused lines in text. Ink was not low.  I use the printer frequently - so it's a mystery but now at least all is working. Thanks.

I'm with you. Sick of this hassle. Quality was good and when it worked, it worked well! Just sucked it up buying ink for half the price of the entire unit. But when it craps the bed during an important job, well...enough is enough. Laser can't come close to picture quality. Not for under $200-300 anyway. Thanks for your post!

I have a CANON G3600 PIXMA...ERROR 5B00 AND INK ABSORBER PROBLEM ?

 

Bought printer 18 months ago is not under warranty and have just got this problem.

 

I have researched and Googled with no salution except pay a fee to some sketchy site to reset the ink absober counter ?

 

 

 

Can my Pixma scan to multiple devices?

I've got an MG7520 that is currently tied (wirelessly) to an old Windows PC. I'd like to be able to scan to other devices(Macs). Is that doable? Thanks in advance.

Hi DavidB341.

 

When a computer's OS is upgraded to a newer version, often times the core settings are also changed. Check whether your computer is connecting on a 5 GHz wifi connection and, if so, try connecting it instead to a standard (2.4 GHz) wifi connection.  To confirm whether the router is allowing communications, you can try opening the TR8520's Remote UI.

 

In the Case of Mac OS Catalina, the drivers on the installation CD will not work; you'll need the latest version of the drivers, available on the

I have about 10 years of ink (the off-brand carts are less than $1.00 each on eBay).  I don't want to give up on them ( I have two left with teh exact same NO POWER issue.  I am going to take a chance and buy a main board ($30 on eBay) and see if that does the trick.


PIXMA MX922 won't print from laptap

Have spent hours troubleshooting my PIXMA MX922, which won't print from my laptop.  Will print from Ipad.  Will scan and print scanned page.  Have done steps in troubleshooting tutorial.  Have selected the printer correctly in Tools/Devices.  Any suggestions?  The issue began subsequent to a Windows 10 update from MS.

Good for you! Those days are over for me. But I remember them well. The way brands, models, versions, hardware, software, all change all the time....screw it. I remember when I started in I.T. and all the talk was about "Open Systems" where standardization was going to make our jobs easier....never happened...went the other way...more proprietary than before. But I digress....

Here's the real solution. [Removed 3rd party link per forum guidelines]

 

You need to just flush out the printhead as it's most likely clogged.   You can tell this by taking a damp paper towel and trying to press against the underside of the printhead along the ports (the lines in the printhead).    You should have about 6 short lines in a group (the color printing ports) and then on longer port (the PGBK port).   I could see colors on the towel but nothing, or very, very little from the PGBK port.   

 

When you do this, know that you need to spend some time with it.   Make sure the tap water is hot (as hot as you can stand, maybe wear cleaning gloves) and you need to spend a couple minutes on the foam pads and then rotate and spend a couple minutes on the printhead plate and then repeat until you really see ink coming out of the different printhead ports (lines on the plate).   Again, the PGBK outport is the longer line.     The first time I tried this I didn't go long enough with the water and didn't really turn the print head much to keep working the clog.   After seeing that the PGBK port was still not putting out any ink I really went at it and spent maybe 10-15 minutes just flushing with hot water until finally I started seeing small chunks of black ink explode out of the PGBK port and the associated foam input pad.  Then I knew I was on to something and kept going untill it ran almost clear.    

 

Afterwards, I used some 70% isopropal alcohol from the medicine cabinet to just clean the ports and contacts after drying, thinking this might prevent salts from the tap water from hurting it.   But you're probably fine just shaking the water off and patting it all dry with some paper towels.   

 

Seriously, I can't say enough about how dejected I was until I really tried this and everything instantly started working again.   We almost just bought a new printer which would have been a waste given all the ink I still have.   

 

I really hope this helps someone else who finds themselves in a similar position.

MF743Cdw Not printing what I see on Screen

I'm working on a Mac with current software. The program doesn't seem to matter (Pages, PDF's, Calendar...) all have issues printing what I see on screen. It slightly changes the format so the shading within a cell varies in color once it encounters text. It doesn't print the very small lines that are on my Calender views. We used to call this WYSIWYG (pronounced wizzy-wig...what you see is what you get).

I even went so far as to turn the Pages doc into a pdf and it still won't print correctly. No issues on HP printer. 

I've updated to the latest drivers but not sure how to fix the issue. Any ideas...?

Hi NDboots.

 

The MG7700 series is not designed to support paper as dense or rigid as most 3x5 index cards.  Usage of such paper may cause damage or otherwise reduce the lifespan of the printer.

TS6120 won't print anything in color!

I've had this printer for about a year or so and it's worked great expept for the past couple months. At first, it started printing anything set in the color setting really faint in some or all of the areas being printed and mostly had issues when printing from paper from the rear tray. Now, it won't print ANYTHING in color and it doesn't matter if it's from the cassette or read tray. I have done the test, but it only tests in black ink and so it works fine.

 

I've recently replaced the ink, even though it wasn't very low, just to make sure that wasn't the reason. The ink isn't old or dried out and so it should be coming out fine. 

 

When I try to print in color, it'll sound like it's working, but the page will come out completely blank. If I switch the same document/ image to greyscale/ black, it works perfectly. 

 

I use this printer for my business and needed something printed yesterday so I'm really stressing!

I did every single test and cleaning and got the red and yellow to work but no blue at all. I changed out the blue to a brand new cartiridge, went through more tests and cleaning, still nothing. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

 

iR-ADV 4535 III I'm facing the Print out issue on iR-ADV 4535 III.

 

I can't able to get print when i'm useing the default Windows 10 Apps like Photo viewer, and edge browser for PDF. recently we changed the printer auhonticataion mode from ULM to Department ID after that only facing this kind of issue.

Greetings,

For this error, you will need to remove your ink cartridges and the printhead.

 

Reseat and reinstal the cartridges.  Unplug the device, wait about 5 minutes and reconnect to power.  Test printing.

 

Note, if the error re-occurs the print head might have malfunctioned or reached the end of its useable life.

I have replaced the yellow print cartridge today using a genuine Canon cartridge. Since then I repeatedly get error messages saying the printer cannot recognise one or more ink cartridges or that one or more cartridges have been installed twice. I have removed & replaced the cartirdges, restarted the printer on several occasions but the problem persists.

Need model info or instructions Manuel for cannon pixma printer serial
